About Me...
I have been teaching for 12 years. In the past, as a classroom teacher, I taught 2nd grade and 4th grade. I am now teaching at-risk students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade.
In my free time, I love to read! I play the piano and enjoy singing. I love to be outside in my garden, and I enjoy hiking in the woods.
My family is very important to me. My husband and I have 2 boys that enjoy school, music, and sports. We have a Lab and a Siberian cat that are both very spoiled.
My Education...
I have always loved working with people. I obtained my first degree in Family Services from the University of Northern Iowa. After years of working for nonprofit organizations with all ages of people, I decided to return to college to pursue a teaching degree so I could share my love of learning with children. I went to Western Illinois University to get my degree in Elementary Education. I have Reading, Social Studies, and Middle School endorsements. I am happy to have found a career that is so rewarding and allows me to give back to the community in which I work in!
